A Ghostly Office

This set was my first fore into both making a full scene and unreal engine, with 30 self made assets, this was exceptionally challenging, but more than worth it. As seen in the title, this piece was intended to portray a haunted home office, many of the rooms smaller objects are strewn or knocked to strange angles, with the owners trying to piece together something about the house…

Being my first dive into Unreal Engine, the most challenging aspect was lighting, at first I wanted it to look extremely unnatural. I started with giving everything a strange blue wash, then just making the room incredibly dim, in the end I had to make many concessions with the lighting, it still had a blue tinge and was dim but not dark, so as to still see all/most of the elements. My favorite part of this project was the modeling and texturing of the furniture pieces, notably the matching desk, bookshelf, filing cabinet, and window table, matching them all in style was incredibly satisfying. But I’d consider my prize piece in the scene to be the note board, covered in notes, images, and good misc. red streaks, its a classic conspiracy board! With fake ghost newspaper snippets about the house, free to use ghost photos, and streaks of blood, I found this piece to be the most fun to make by far and probably the most visually interesting piece of them all.
